Tony Beeton's maternal grandfather (Arthur Elbourn) is in the centre of the picture between the two lines of three. Unlike 970 of his comrades, Corporal Arthur Elbourn of Stapleford survived the Great War and was discharged in February 1919. The picture was probably taken in Yorkshire when the Battalion joined the 34th Div. for training in the Ripon area.
